After Byron's encounter with Antonietta he is able to see and feel again, his first reaction is to covert her as claim her as his carpathian lifemate but after getting to know her he realize that she needs a choice. This is a very different Carpathian story with 2 great main characters.

I was a little tired of Feehan's stories being so similar to each other. I was not disappointed when i read the Scarletti Curse, this is a new story that will keep you in suspense until the very end.

Don Giovanni Scarletti is dark, handsome and powerful. Being the Don grants him the right to pick his wife from any of the women in his lands.
Nicoletta is a beautiful young healer that never wants to be married. Together Giovanni and Nicoletta learn trust and love and have to fight the great Scarletti family curse if they want to be together!

Both Gregori's and Lucian's stories have been the two stories within the Dark Series that I have anticipated the most and both have disappointed me greatly. Lucian was the most feared Carpathian male yet in his story I did not get that vibe from him. It could be that at book number nine the writer is no longer as enthusiastic of creating a unique story or Lucian was just not the hero I was expecting him to be.

I was expecting the hero to be a alpha male which Tom despite being the commander of an elite team within the Navy Seals really wasn't. In Tom's story we are able to see three different love stories. My favorite was between Mallory, Tom's niece and David an older college nerd that actually gets the girl.
