An amazing book. I can't believe I waited so long to read it. An near-encyclopedic vision of France, Paris, French history, and French culture/society. And about as thrilling a story as you get in much lesser works.

The EXTRA MAN
Banal. Solipsistic to the point of being an exercise in masturbation. Ames provides zero insight into the sexual neuroses he so meticulously catalogues. Worst of all: boring and lazy writing. Avoid.
