Typical Dean Koontz really. Starts off superbly with great character build up, action scenes that leave you breathless etc etc. About 400 pages in, it seemed as though Koontz just gave up and decided to write any old rubbish as an ending. Ending seemed to be a bit easy, not to mention ridiculous.

A lot like The Taking and The Bad Place, in the sense that it started off with so much promise and ended on a really low note.

Political thriller in the same vein as Clancy. VERY heavy on Air-Force jargon (which I suppose is to be expected, considering the author is an ex Air-Forcer General) so it is a bit of a struggle to keep up at times. Majority of the book is based in the planning areas, but when the action is delivered in its small doses, it doesn't disappoint.
