Above all, a great idea -
A novel written by a TV series character, is above all an amazing idea. Naked Heat is a funny, interesting and trashy story very story similar to the on we can see on the TV. And in that is delightful. Just the thing to send your brain on the greener pastures. But if the reader expects high quality ... (

I do have to admit that I started loving Stephen King's work (novels, short stories and films) at the very early age. I was maybe 13 years old. And so fare I have managed to read and see quite a lot of his work. BUT, with out any doubt in my mind I have to say, this one is the best of King. Placed somewhere between his "social" novels like Dolores Claiborne and his mystery/horror novels like Desperation, Insomnia tells, on one side, a story of life, loneliness and being old, and on the other side he puts his characters in horror and mystery that only King is capable of creating. Starting slowly (as he always does) he makes you love and hate his characters, and then he rushes them with the speed of light into the turmoil of kingsian horror. A masterpiece from the pen of Stephen King.
