A bit mysterious, but a truly creative series. It's a unique experience to read these books whose story is told by reading letters and looking at artwork. Don't really get the ending...maybe multiple readings would help explain. Overall a bit elusive but worth it.
An important book everyone could benefit from reading. I've read this more than once and think about its 4 basic lessons for living on a daily basis. It has helped me simplify my life and thoughts.
The first time I read this it was difficult to get into and I was intimidated by the size of it. I'm glad I stuck with it (and read it twice!) as Ayn Rand is an incredible writer. Saw the movie first and it was a movie that really stayed with me. Seeing it first may have helped me "get" the main characters in the book better and it did enrich my reading. This is pretty good but I may have liked the movie better for once!
Excellent and intriguing. Great writing, and compelling characters and descriptions. The movie doesn't come close to capturing all the detail and history. A non-fiction book with the feel of a greatly imagined story.
Noticed you liked She's Come Undone, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also about a disturbed young girl's downward spiral and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:
Hi Felicia, I am really looking forward to finally meeting you too! I have read all of the books on my site I just hadn't finished updating and rating them! I have to be in the mood for Garcia Marquez. I liked Love in the Time of Cholera better than 100 Years of Solitude. He is definately worth reading. I have most of my books (450+)on my Shelfari site but Jamie couldn't get Shelfari on her computer and asked me to join Anobii. It may take me a while to get them all added. Happy reading! Beth
Hi Felicia! It's your sister in law (Beth) in Chicago. I'm glad we can connect over books. I just shipped a box to Jamie. Hopefully when she is finished we can pass them on to you. It looks like we already have quite a few books in common. I am a huge Ayn Rand fan. Beth
Creative and Intriguing
