對於一個如我養了十幾年貓咪的愛貓人, 這真是一本不可錯過的好書. 朱天心把與她有緣相遇的貓咪們描寫的淋漓盡致, 又好玩, 又感傷, 更多的是真實. 抱著茉莉或琪在懷裏, 這些年來把這本書看了好幾次.

Quite detailed explanation and descriptions of common and uncommon herbs. I am not very familiar with a lot of them. It is getting a little strange to read about eating some of them that simply look like weeds and not edible. But it is still a joy to read about mint and basils.

這是我最喜歡的作家旅記. 陳丹燕帶著她的眼睛, 感性的心, 和廣博的文學背景, 幫我們看了也許這輩子我們不能完全走過的國度. 非常喜歡她躲在角落觀察當地人的仔細, 及對有名作家畫家的追念.

咖啡苦不苦的姊妹作. 同樣讓我"two thumbs up"的好書. 暫時不能出去走走的苦憋心情, 就在閱讀此書時慢慢鬆開快樂起來.

It's a "deep" book that requires a lot of understanding and energy to digest. Probably not a perfect book for me at this time to enjoy. But I definitely will go back to it sometime in the future.
