I found it hard to read the pages that went on and on about the Occupation, the experiences that people had to endure in that horrible time. But the parts that were not about the Occupation in England, I found those parts highly entertaining, charming, romantic, funny and spontaneous. The book is written through corresponding mail between the characters. As I read the book I found myself falling in love with all this people, their simple lives and the beauty of the island.
