I have never fully understand the plight of women in Afghanistan (or women in the Muslim world) until I read this book.
It was a 'mind opener' and extraordinary since it was written by a guy. The story was moving but sad.
After I read the Kite Runner (by the same author) and seen the film, scenes of the story kept popping up in my mind because the story is so powerful. But not in this case as the scenes would be rather horrific. ... (continue)
