    I have never fully understand the plight of women in Afghanistan (or women in the Muslim world) until I read this book.

    It was a 'mind opener' and extraordinary since it was written by a guy. The story was moving but sad.

    After I read the Kite Runner (by the same author) and seen the film, scenes of the story kept popping up in my mind because the story is so powerful. But not in this case as the scenes would be rather horrific. ... (continue)

    This latest novel is not as good as his last one (False Impression). There are one or two places in the plot which I found implausible. Nevertheless, I have difficulties putting down the book because as always, there is a twist in his story which keeps you guessing right until the end.
