A good read if one is satisfied with only partial understanding of each character and a storyline only held together by the book's end of WWII immigration camp for Jews outside of Palestine. I enjoy Diamant's intense understanding of the woman's mind and senses, but perhaps the book is meant to be a glimpse of the current moment, a touch of the past and a glimmer of the future.
