A complex but very rewarding cluster of stories set in New York and about New York with the nexus of all the stories the day that Philippe Petit walked a tight rope between the twin towers of the World Trade Centre However another character equally at the heart of most of the events is Corrigan, the Irish born priest who's obessive self sacrifice has consequences for most of the characters in the book.
I didn't find either of those two characters that convincing with the reasons for their respective obsessions insufficiently unexplained. However the characters at the centre of each separate facet of this novel are all brilliantly drawn and collectively make a complete and very emotionally rewarding whole.
