This story has so many twists and turns amid frantic activity and adventure that I was kept intrigued to the very end where plots and ploys were finally revealed. It does rely heavily on a short era in Veronian history and input from Shakespearean literature, so the tale encompasses numerous historical and literary figures. It really is quite entertaining. I would recommend it.

Cover of Skeleton Dance
Cover of The Four Seasons
  • A whole lot more about an imaginary pair of sisters abandoned as very young children to one of the foundling homes in 18th century Venice, than about Vivaldi per se, but still an engrossing tale of the era and it's rich period details.

Cover of Through a Glass, Darkly
Cover of An Unsuitable Attachment
  • A quaint story of old fashioned, proper relationships where assumptions are made and not realized. Written with a very subtle humor regarding delicate human probings into feelings when it isn't "polite" to be too forward. Altogether a style of writing no longer popular.
