Ah yes, true, I had forgotten: you really have to struggle to get over the first 30 pages, after that it's fantastic. Then, there are the Latin parts, which are probably translated in your version right? Cos in mine they weren't translated, so after a while I started ignoring them and everything proceded just as well. It's good you read Il Pendolo first, so now you're ready for smth even better ;)

Did you also read Il nome della Rosa? Cos Le Pendule looked really boring while I loved the name of the rose...
