I read it slowly, taking months to finish, savouring every single story being told. Stories told from the heart, many with pain and passion that only self-discovery can bring.

So I would suggest it to all those who are in search of their sexual identity or just feeling as the only one on plant earth.

As his previous novel it is a book to reread cause sometimes there is too much information to assimilate in just one bite.

  • Sometimes too slow

Not bad. However I liked more the second one in the series (Friends, Lovers and Chocolate) which by mistake I read first.
Sometimes I felt that the story was being dragged.
Saved by the author's now and then brilliant straight to the point phrases that makes one think and smile.

However impressed by all the philosophical jargon applied to everyday thinking!

  • Thank you!

It took me more than 10 days to come to terms with the idea that new Harry Potter books might not be there any more to be read.
I love it, enjoyed it, lived it to the very end.

I love it, enjoyed it, lived it to the very end.
Harry Potter has the ability to make me forget all about the word around me, making me feel surrounded by a world full of magic, of people who care...
It might be even considered silly but reading Potter has always taken me back to my childhood days when school was a place I nearly called home. Where wearing a uniform was a place to belong, where rivalry between study groups was the order of the day and where some teachers were real life mentors.
    Dearest Rowling, Thank you!

  • A welcoming change

I really enjoyed reading it. Quite a welcoming and delightful change from his other detective series. In certain instances it was hilarious to the point of laughing out loud with everybody turning round to see what happened!

Something that maybe gave it a bit of depth, credibility, something that made the book not only to try to look but also really feel unique.
Something that made it worth reading and savouring.
Most of the things written seem the usual stuff one expects from a mediocre layman to conjure after watching too much the Italian 8 o'clock evening news and the famous Porta Porta television show!

  • It’s simplicity still strikes me…and it’s so down-to-earth wisdom leaves me thinking how much we can complicate our lives…and how simple it would be if we could all live in a country like Botswana with Ms. Ramotswe as a neighbour and friend…always ready to share a chat and a cup of red tea.

Do not really know what to say about this book and how to review it. The style is quite interesting but I couldn’t really understand the story. Couldn’t grasp the real from fantasy or whatever the author wanted to transmit to the reader.

It is my first time reading Doris Lessing and this book was described as the quintessence of Doris Lessing. Well before I decide if I like her or not I shall eventually read another book.
I would not recommended as a first try…it reminded me of David Lynch’s films…surreal with no head or tail.
