Overhyped... -
...…as I suspected. And poorly written, I didn’t like the movie-script kind of style (I'm wondering if the Italian translation might be any better?). It's good as a train reading though, the chapters are very short and fast-paced; an average thriller, that's all.

Not a masterpiece, but a touching story nonetheless -
Far from considering it a masterpiece, the novel is very touching nonetheless, so I rated the book accordingly, giving more importance to the message conveyed than the writing syle or the book as a whole or whatsoever.
While the tearjerking writing techniques quite annoyed me in fact, (again and aga ... (continue) - — Oct 13, 2010 | Add your feedback

Hadn't it been written by her, the book would hardly have reached three stars: as much as I can enjoy chick-lit, the story is almost identical to that of the first shopaholic book, with a few minor changes (basically the location, New York). But Sophie Kinsella’s unique writing style has won me over ... (continue)

Overall an enjoyable read, if you take it as it is, a light-hearted novel following the quite predictable patterns of chick-lit books. However, if you're single and you've just moved to London (like me) this is definitely a good choice for the journeys on the Tube!

(continue)

I really struggled with language and style this time! It took me a while to finish the book and it was not exactly what I call a page turner, but I did know that McEwan's style would be challenging, I was prepared. It is a good story, I particularly liked the final chapter and its meta-reference and ... (continue)

Il mio primissimo approccio alla letteratura russa! -
(continue)

Yes the plot is hackneyed and yes quite predictable too, but I can't help it: I just love Sophie Kinsella's style, the book was a page turner as usual!

Shopaholic Ties the Knot
Not as funny and entertaining as the first two of the Shopaholic series, I was almost about to abandon it, I may just need a pause from Sophie Kinsella for a while!
