I am tempted to give it a 5 star rating for the brilliant ending. However there is something not fully achieved in this book, making the story not fully successful. At some points during my reading I felt a slight lack of interest in the story.
Thanks to McEwan's prose this book remains a very enjoyable page turner, although is does not compare favorably to Solar and Atonement (the other books I read).
The passages dealing with an author's creativity process are striking, and I also liked the final change of prospective. In these themes and techniques make Sweet Tooth similar to Atonement.
