I highly enjoyed it. The idea of folk magic being real, and in direct opposition to Protestant Christianity is very interesting. Card makes great use of dialect. I was very aware of it, but it wasn't hard to read and really added to the story. It's true that the loose ends aren't completely tied up ... (continue)

Great read -
I always enjoy this story. The great thing, I think, is that it isn't, or doesn't necessarily need to be, about Christmas. It's really about kindness and generosity, and how someone without those characteristics can lead a very lonely and wretched life. It does have the normal sprinkling of Dicke ... (continue)

I highly enjoyed it. Yes, it is bleak and sad, but only because it makes one reflect on certain things in one's life, and the relationships one has with one's family and friends. The art is great, and the design of the entire book is incredible. It immediately caught my eye when i saw it on the shel ... (continue)

Red Prophet
I really liked it. I can't say I liked it as much as the first one, mainly because I found the parts with Hooch and the parts with the French to be uninteresting. I understand why they were there, but I really didn't care what was happening.

I really liked it. I can't say I liked it as much as the first one, mainly because I found the parts with Hooch and the parts with the French to be uninteresting. I understand why they were there, but I really didn't care what was happening.
I loved the rest of it though. I really like how the alternate history still somewhat mirrors the real history of Tecumseh and Tenscwatawa. I loved the ending. It's extremely sad because Vigor Church will never be the same again. I love it, though, because Card does an amazing job of making me feel the whole extent of what happened.
In all, it was good. Although there were some boring parts, the good parts definitely kept my interest, so I wanted to keep reading.
