well, for instance: The Bible Unhearted, An Appeal To Reason, For Whom The Bell Tolls, The World Without Us, False Down, Middlesex, Downsize this!(...), The Conquest of Happiness (I would have never been attracted by such a title, but this is by B.Russell...), that's all I think... are they good choices?? ;-)

OK, that's good to know, Bjorn Lomborg was on my reading list.

Guns, Germs, and Steel is a great book, I would recommend it as he covers many factors that lead to the state of the world today. But I enjoyed Collapse by the same author even more.
