I've looked through discussions on the sites we named, and I don't see any that indicate people are angered by my approach. Can you point me in the right direction?

To be honest, it upsets me that people are angered by this. I certainly never intended to do anything to anger people. On the contrary, I come to these sites because I love reading and books and writing, and I love talking to people about the subject. I was actually a member of Librarything and Goodreads long before I had a published book. I really enjoy telling people about the book, and from the responses I've received, people seem to appreciate the fact that I contact them. You're actually the first person who has responded negatively.

I'm sorry, but I really don't think offering a free e-book to readers on book-related sites is SPAM.
