The book caught my eye on the shelf because of its beautiful stained glass window cover. I picked it up and opened it - the quote inside says people will pick this up because of Frank Lloyd Wright, but they will keep reading because of Mamah Cheney. (That was so me! hmmm... maybe it's meant to be) ... (continue)

I had a very interesting realization while reading this book in Mr. Gaydos' English class. I had read Lord of the Flies a couple years prior to this class, and I knew how it ended. We were having in class silent reading, and I was coming towards the death of Piggy, and i closed my book and put it ... (continue)

This book is more like listening to Malachy spin a yarn in front of you. It's not really like reading a book. Great stories of a man (mid 20's and on) and his adventures in New York. My favorite so far is about his summer on an island in Long Island Sound, how he talked his friends into sharing "a great beach house" (actually a shack), so he then had it to himself for the summer, and told the ladies that if he is wearing his ascot to the side then "he is available for the evening". I really laugh out loud while I'm reading this story, and that is a very nice respite given all the work and other stress i'm dealing with currently.
