From the start I knew I was going to have trouble reading this book. And I was right, I struggled the whole way through. it took me about 3 weeks to read it, the longest I think I've ever taken to read a book. It is amazing how Paullina can create a character that I can feel NO sympathy for at all and really dislike them. I felt for Jared and the kids, for Che and Nalini. But absolutely none for Larissa and very little for Kai.
I think I enjoyed it, I didn't particularly like the main characters but again Paullina has given me something that I can't stop thinking about and analysing. That I'm sure is a sign of a good book right? She's left me feeling so many different emotions, so all I can say is thankfully she only writes a book every few years. It gives me time to get over her last one.
I gave it 5 stars mainly because I haven't stopped thinking about it since I finished it. Even though it drove me completely insane while reading it.
