  I first read about 簡媜 was from the book "老師的十二樣見面禮", probably here more recent book. It was by accident that I picked up this book, and I thought about putting it back since it wasn't really the stuff that I wanted to read then. However, as I read the first few pages, I was totally attracted by her style of writing. In the end it was a joyful reading experience. I guess I probably read too much Hong Kong writers (or so called writers). Taiwanese writers are so much different, it's a joy to see the craft and the use of words. I guess HK writers was doing a job, while Taiwanese writers was sharing their joy of writing. I am most happy to get to know this author.
