these two volumes of biography of his own childhood cause overwhelming discusses in Japan, especially critiques from the extreme right wing parties on the historic circumstances of Japan and its society during the WWII. However, I believe it can be a material that reflects part of the ordinary people tried to live on an ordinary life through an unexpected circumstances.
Oh, one friend of mine recommended me to read this book for she said that I'm a kind of like him. I guess it's misjudged because we only met on-line, never in person.....
