　　以一個民間出版社之力，一年之內兩排《紅樓夢》，這還不是第一次，乾隆五怳誚~（一七九一年）程偉元高鶚等首次校印《紅樓夢》，不到一年又再次改版重印。只是程高本是越改越離原作者旨意，而我們正好相反。

　　我們之所以改排這本《紅樓夢》的理由，至少有以下數點：（一）它是以庚辰本為底本，庚辰本是所有脂評本中抄得較早，且保存得最為完整的一部，是最接近曹雪芹原作的本子。（二）它使用以參校的版本較先前各本尤多。（三）注解時儘量注明原出處。（四）字詞典故，以至通篇大旨的解釋，較他本更為週到。

　　至於初排本原有的優點，如劉旦宅彩畫為大家所喜愛，則予保留；另增「紅樓夢版本簡介」，以供參考。
