本書分三部，前兩部寫夢，第三部記錄一家三口六十多年的家庭生活。從一九三五年楊絳與錢鍾書結婚同赴英國牛津求學起始，記敘女兒在英國出生，一九三八年回國以及後來的各種經歷，一直寫到文革乃至於現在，縮影了近半個多世紀以來中國知識分子的生活與精神。

楊絳以九十二歲高齡寫下這本回憶錄，用心靈向彼岸的親人無聲地傾訴著。作為老派知識分子，她的文字含蓄節制，字裡行間彌漫難以言表的親情和憂傷，令人動容。

A little bit sad but it's really good. I am interested to read books from her and her husband. Books from writer in mainland china at that time always got kind of "grey" mood, the mood that make you feel like you just can't do anything. But the love between them is so warm.
