the story actually revolved around Instant transmission by atomic disintegration and reassembly. Obviously it is a product of Star Trek, the most popular space travel drama.
but the side product resulting in separation of head or hands or feet is an interesting by product. Also the mentioning of superintegrated circuit by science frontier news of that time is pretty clever.
The writing was unusually good in the last novel, goldenball from extraterrestrial. But this novel it resumed to as dry as usual.
His wife BakSo was not as calm and aloof as in later novels.
Story basically of several part,first the fight with BakSo against the fragmented man, more a mystery story
second, the fight with Tang Shek in Egypt, more like spy story.
third part from venture to dessert to see ox head god , scorpions were like Indiana Jones, with adventure and SF.
the final part of recovering the insane mind of the poisoned scientists is ingenious. I not not sure whether he invented it or copy from another source
