Book Description

A book I bought recently. Surprisingly I spent something like 3 weeks to finish it. Given the Nobel prize I think Charles Ko should be widely appreciated. As the father of optical fibre , he has undoubtedly contributed a lot to Human history. For instance, you cannot see this passage smoothly without optical fibre.
This book is a general description on how he lived in UK , US and HK. Nothing really serious about optical fibre was presented.
A super ironic scene I would like to highlight after I have bought the book.
Isn't it just strange that on one hand you are admiring and respecting the signifiicance of the invention of optical fibre, on the other hand you see booths selling Broadband like ... $99 / month?
To be honest, I don't see any worse products than those Telecom industry in HK. Have you ever seen booth on street selling food / /clothes/ travelling/ insurance / electronics? Never.
We are, to some extend, the friends of property agents.
We deserve some more respect.
