作者：

香港文化評論人、作家，現長駐中國大陸從事雜誌出版，經常往返上海、北京、廣州及香港各城。美國威斯康辛大學傳播藝術系畢業，專注文化研究。

曾任編輯、記者及電台節目主持人，亦曾當香港大學通識課程客席講師（教授香港普及文化）、香港中文大學新聞系客席講師（教授創意寫作），香港國際電影節編輯及於香港藝術中心教授電影欣賞課程。

擅寫電影評論、城市空間、網路、文化現象及性意識等各種流行文化觀察，文章見於香港《明報》、《經濟日報》、《星島日報》、《號外》；國內《周末畫報》、《新視線》、《新京報》、《南方都市報》及台灣《電影欣賞》、《誠品好讀》等。
近年尤關注中國城市觀察，曾出版剖析男子成長心態之結集《男人那東西》、小說《香港酷酷》、評論集《香港後摩登》；主編《香港101：愛恨香港的101個理由》、《裙情洶湧》、《經典200：最佳華語電影二百部》、《上海101：尋找上海的101個理由》、《王家衛的映畫世界》等書。

It took me half day to finish the whole book. It is about the China development in 2008 just before the Olympics. Undoubtedly China has become the centre of the world since 10 years ago. It took me half day to finish the whole book. It is about the China development in 2008 just before the Olympics. Undoubtedly China has become the centre of the world since 10 years ago. The book describes all the prosperous things about China in terms of people, culture (food , fashion and music), city development and the integration with HK. Being born in HK, the author tries to look at the development in our point of view.
The number of preface somehow shows that it is like a masterpiece. Yet I agree with the reviews online that there is really too much. A great book does not need 12+ people to write at the very beginning. It serves as the bad spot of the book.
In the conclusion the author also talks about the things missing in the book. It's crystally clear that he has included many development topics. However, he has not even talked about the poor and the bad side of the country. Perhaps it serves as a good start to me to take a look at my friend's, Alan's exhibition.
