在不同的時空背景和社會文化中，社會看待青少年成長的觀點不同，小說對成長的詮釋當然也就不同。目前國內所稱的少年小說和成長小說，都以青少年的成長與啟蒙為主題，但二者的成長本質卻大不相同；成長和反成長並非二元對立，二者之間應該存在更多深刻的意涵。因此，本書以青少年成長小說擴大視野，旨在研究臺灣青少年成長小說中的反成長傾向，探究其美學表現，發掘小說中反成長所呈現的問題意識與價值，並尋求其未來可以再開展的可能。期望有助於所有關心青少年成長的讀者，能更深入了解臺灣青少年小說中的成長歷程。
