Not exactly a good one, but I admire her industry

The title means "Getting to the End of Life". It was written by a 96-year-old female Chinese scholar, the wife of the venerable Qian Zhong-Shu (one of my favorite Chinese writers all-time).

The title means "Getting to the End of Life". It was written by a 96-year-old female Chinese scholar, the wife of the venerable Qian Zhong-Shu (one of my favorite Chinese writers all-time).
This couple forms a formidable pair. One charms readers with his wits and broader-than-the-broadest knowledge, the other examines the past with conscience & an unparalleled lightheartedness even in the times of suffers.
This book is her thoughts on life. Not an excellent one, for she was still kind of too old and too uninformed with the present understanding of life from the scientists' point of view.
The only reason why I still consider this book readable is nostalgia. In the later half of this book, she turned to her strength again -- telling stories from her old days, and share her views on Confucius. That just tells me how separated I am now from the place historically known as Middle Kingdom. Everything has changed.
Well, for the better, or for the worse??
