Book Description
《重建中國》最初于1981年用法文寫成，在法國出版。今由新華社駐巴黎記者李穎譯成中文，並由生活•讀書•新知三聯書店出版，使中國讀者能有機會看到這本書。我對此感到非常榮幸
這本書介紹的是解放後直至70年代末中國的城市規劃和城市建設，以及新中國歷次運動在這些領域造成的影響，有成功的經驗也有失敗的教訓。
原書面向的是法國讀者，所以有些內容中國讀者耳熟能詳。而另一些內容因為已經過去很長時間了，一些年輕的中國讀者對當時的情況也許還不甚了解，對他們來說遙遠而陌生，希望他們看後能增加知識，有所收獲。
因為這本書是70年代末開始編寫的，當時中國的改革開放尚未實行，近三十年來中國發生了翻天覆地的變化，有些內容和觀點顯然已經過時，比如說，書中提到的人民公社和生產大隊已經不復存在。但有些內容還是有保留價值和借鑒作用的，希望讀者自己判斷。
