  中學畢業後不久看過的書，轉眼，到如今已是十幾年了，書中主角的形象仍是如此鮮明。

  這是一本報告文學，真人真事，由任職記者的作者述克里斯傳奇而短暫的一生。

  克里斯熱愛文學，尤愛傑克倫敦，他響往自由、野性與不羈，響往到了一個地步竟獨自一人到阿拉斯加這個杳無人煙之地去冒險，一嚐那個野性與自然的世界，最後他可能因為吃了有毒食物而死於該地，人們發現他時是在一架廢棄的直升機裏，死去多時。

  克里斯的敢作敢為令我印象深刻，也許他死時跟我看該書時的年紀差不多吧，只有十九歲，因此容易產生共鳴。
