本書第一部分為“憶故人”，共七章，介紹二十世紀三、四十年代間，五位中國著名文人學者：蔡元培、魯迅、戴望舒、許地山及蕭紅，在香港文壇活動的足跡，及其相關作品。第二部分為“臨舊地”，介紹上世紀曾留下無數中國文人足跡的香港四個地方：孔聖堂、學士台、六國飯店、達德書院（今之何福堂中學）。
香港文學散步，讓青年人在現實場景裡跨越時空，進入作家的生命！進入他們的境界，從而對文學作品產生感情。
