i have read many many books, but one has yet to touch me and open my eyes as this one did. i suggest to anyone with an open mind and a curious soul to read this book.
Throughout junior high and high school I had a tendency of just keeping the books the teacher would give us as a reading assignment. If I really enjoyed the book, I would never return it. Did not like the ending
In my opinion, this is the quintessential science fiction novel. People will be reading this is 5050!
Beautifully read by one of the all-time great narrators, Frank Muller (5/5/51 - 6/4/08).
Orwell does a great job creating atmosphere. When you put this book down, you still feel as if Big Brother is Watching.
quite good and quite scary when you really think about it.
Do NOT see the movie. It very much ruins the books because it sucks so bad.
great book. This book becomes more and more relevant everyday. A must read for everyone.
What people often forget is that politics is not a straight line going left & right, but a circle which is topped by despotism. Hitler was extreme to the "right" while Stalin was extreme to the "left". They met at the top of the circle where all despots meet: dictatorship.
Read most of this in my 7th grade reading class - teacher allowed us to read racier parts at home
