Better than the writer's best selling debut, Confessions of a Shopoholic, this book fulfils every girl's fantasies, making itself a perfect companion of a flight.

I laughed a lot when reading this book.

I think this one is the best of Sophie Kinsella

Idiotic, ridiculous and nonsense. I will rate it zero star if I can.

The plot structure is as simple as someone meeting another one in an embarrassing ocassion, then meeting again afterwards and falling in love eventually. Kinsella is trying to attract readers by the contrast of Emma's and Jack's social status. I would say it interesting 30 years ago, but now I only find it old-fashioned. The plot is too dramatic and even ridiculous.

The first 20% of the story looks attractive but the latter 80% is disappointing when I find the characters are all single-dimensional like programmed robots. No climax at all. And I;m fed up with Emma's never-ending embarrassing events and her idiotic acts.

  • "Can you keep a secret?" is a fun, witty and enjoyable reading, but Sophie Kinsella has her style, which is much the same in every book she writes so if you'd pick up one and read it, you've just read the whole lot. Perfect for a summer reading.

  • Love Sophie Kinsella's style of writing. Feels as if the thoughts running through the main character's head is coming out of mind. So realistic yet unbelievable at the same time!

"It's sweet when someone knows every detail of you not because you keep on reminding them but because they pay attention." This is a quote that [I think] can best describe this book to everyone. Well, it is quite true that we tend to feel special when someone pays attention to us in terms of our likes and dislikes, what we do, what we feel, our secrets, etc. Anyway, I love how you can really feel those emotions and can relate to the characters, how you can really picture out the situations they are in. It was a great book that values trust and honesty, even sharing, above all in a relationship. It tells us what really matters. I also love the humor of the author and the craziness of the protagonist. I definitely recommend this books to everyone.
