I avoided reading this novel since high school, as I thought it sounded tremendously boring. In the same way that people who have never really had to do much public speaking work up an irrational fear of it because of others' fear of it, I feared this novel would be a complete snorefest and kept my distance. As an English major in undergrad, it finally caught up with me in a 19th century British fiction class. What is there to say about Pride and Prejudice? No one should be without this book on their shelf at home.
What can I say? I love Liz - strong, knowledgable, and bold.
Or maybe I'm looking for Mr. Darcy too!
Bought for me and reading with Gen.
My favorite book to date. Creative, thoughtful, insightful, romantic, original, exciting.

This is probably Jane Austen's most famous novel, with good reason. The characters are so interesting all with different voices and ideas. It's amazing how family is depicted in this novel, the Bennet's are real people and you can feel the love below all the chatter. Excellent love story, believable most importantly. What about Mr. Darcy? I can see him in my minds eye whenever I re-read it. Of course I'm Lizzie!
