This bewitching tale of Dorothy's adventures in the magical Land of Oz is one of the best loved of modern fairy-tales. Made into a spectacular film in 1939 it continues to delight adult and child alike.

When a cyclone suddenly propels Dorothy and her dog Toto skywards she finds herself in an unknown land. She is hailed as a powerful sorceress by the little Munchkins, but her one desire is to return to Kansas, where beloved Aunt Em and Uncle Henry await her. Dorothy's quest to seek the 'Great Wizard Oz' - the only one who can help her - leads her on a perilous journey along the Yellow Brick Road towards the glittering City of Emeralds. On the way she encounters the brainless Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman in search of a heart and the Cowardly Lion, who all join her. The book is wonderful, Sabuda is a wizard and somewhere over the rainbow there’s certainly a new pop up book by him waiting for me.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz - L.F.Baum

"My darling child"! she cried, folding the little gitl in her arms and covering her face with kisses. "Where in the world did you come from?"
"From the land of Oz", said Dorothy gravely. "And here is Toto too. And oh, Aunt Em! I'm so glad to be at home again!"
