It is 1890. Two years after the unsolved spree of England's most notorious murderer, Jack the Ripper, London shudders at the discovery of a murdered prostitute in Whitechapel. Shock follows as an aspiring ambassador is implicated in the gruesome ritual murder--only to be cleared by Superintendent Thomas Pitt, whose efforts successfully sent the true killer to the gallows. But when another, chillingly similar, murder is committed, terrifying questions arise. Simultaneous hardcover release from Fawcett. 2 cassettes.

  • Anne Perry just keeps turning out one after another mysteries with multilayered story lines. I really enjoy losing myself in the Victorian era with Thomas and Charlotte! And, I particularly like the plots where Thomas is the main protagonist.
