A girlish book. The diary of Mia.
Mia was that kind of below-average unpopular teen girl, studying at Albert Einstein High School, aged 14 and weak at Maths. Her parents were divorced and she was used to do all the housework.

A girlish book. The diary of Mia.
Mia was that kind of below-average unpopular teen girl, studying at Albert Einstein High School, aged 14 and weak at Maths. Her parents were divorced and she was used to do all the housework.
She was so common and unnoticed by the others, until one day her father told her that she was actually the heir to the throne of Genovia.
All of a sudden, she became a princess. She needed to wear her first formal dress, put on make-ups, learn how to use different forks, that sorts of "princessy things". She also came across a serious break-up with her closest friend Lilly, whom she had known since kindergarten, and went out with her first date, who was the cutest and most popular boy in the school.
A story of growing-up with laughter and tears. Probably will go on to later series.
American style spoken English with quite some slang and vocabularies.

Finally Mia got what she wanted most – her first boyfriend – in this book. Yet the problem was not solved. She just could not tell which feeling was stronger: the joy that it was Kenny, her biology partner whom she LIKED; or the disappointment that it was not Michael, her best friend’s brother.
Again, life (both school and personal) was not easy for Mia. Aside from not being able to break up with Kenny because it would be so mean to do it before finals, and tell Michael that she had loved him for like her whole life, Mia had to continue her princess lessons for her formal introduction to the Genovian citizens, though the exams were coming up. She also got to choose the dresses designed specifically for her during this royal function as well as the School Winter Dance before Christmas.
What Michael did towards the end had surprised me. It looked so sweet and touching a thing.
Plus, it was always encouraging to see how Mia overcame those difficult times.

Still a lot of fun reading the fourth part.
Fully understand how Mia felt towards Michael, sort of worried being dumped though not even going out yet and the whole not-chasing-boy thing.

It turned out that Mia's worry was silly, because Michael was so, so caring and understanding a guy.
I can totally see that I am just another Mia with my 'Michael', who, though not royal, is a prince in my eye/mind.

In this volume, Mia had been wishing to go with Michael to the school prom in which junior was only allowed if invited by a senior. It was the dream of Mia to be escorted by and dance with her very true love there in a fabulous nightgown. However, Michael treated the prom as a lame thing.
On the other side, a strike was triggered by Grandmere bringing Rommel to Mia's fifteen-year-old birthday dinner at a hotel. This also led to the broke-up of Lilly with Boris, because that was why she later met the hot busboy who got fired by the hotel.
The strike caused the cancellation of the prom at Maxim's, but if not with it, Mia would not be able to get Michael's band playing in the prom, and her being the prom princess at the Empire State Building that night.
On the same night, Mia also became the elder sister of her new born brother Rocky.

Volume 6. Mia still had a lot of problems in her life:
1. She was nominated by her best friend Lilly to run for the Student Council President against the most popular girl Lana in School.
2. Her importing 10,000 snails for consuming the killer algae had almost make her country-one-day-she-will-rule being kicked out of EU.
3. Her college boyfriend Michael expected her to Do It.
4. Her dream as being a writer was crushed by her new stylish English teacher.
5. She being a baby-licker of her new born brother Rocky.
6. Without Algebra, she was still flunking Geometry.
There were often difficult problems in Mia's life, but seeing as how she possessed bravery, pureness and luck, I always know that everything will turn out to be fine and fruitful.

To me, it's not as hilarious as its predecessors are. Maybe it's because that I'm no longer a teen; it's hard for me to relate to what Mia is going through. To me, it's not as hilarious as its predecessors are. Maybe it's because that I'm no longer a teen; it's hard for me to relate to what Mia is going through. Still, it's funny to see how Mia is doing with her roller coaster ride life and her presidential rants; I kinda agreed with what her writing teacher said about her writing at first, but Mia's rebuttal also makes a very good point indeed.
