I've read this countless times - my copy is practically in pieces! My favourite SK book, followed closely by The Body (novella). He has a great ability to tap into the minds of children and then express their fears and hopes.

The story itself scared me (when I was younger) but was also full of hope. SK at his best.

Not only is this Stephen King's best novel it's also by his scariest. It's my all-time favorite book.

Couldn't sleep for days. Storm drains still frighten me.
This was one of the better ones, though I do tend to be a sucker for any of his with misfit kids banding together.

Non c'è propio paragone con il film, il libro descrive molto meglio il panico, la tensione, l'amore, l'amiocizia, la voglia di avventura di questo gruppo di prima bambini e successivamente di adulti che si ritrovano loro malgrado ad avere a che fare con il terribile IT, conosciuto da principio come ... Non c'è propio paragone con il film, il libro descrive molto meglio il panico, la tensione, l'amore, l'amiocizia, la voglia di avventura di questo gruppo di prima bambini e successivamente di adulti che si ritrovano loro malgrado ad avere a che fare con il terribile IT, conosciuto da principio come il pagliaccio ma che in seguito si scoprirà avere tutta un altra identità .... lettura avvincente ricca di colpi di scena, scorrevole e che cattura l'attenzione del lettore in tutte le sue sfumature....

This is actually my second time reading this book. The first time was back when it was first released and I was an avid fan of SK. I remember hating this book so much I didn't finish it and didn't pick up another SK for nearly 20 years. lol I'm glad I gave this book another chance. There are some truly creepy scenes and he did a wonderful job with the pre-teen buddies/bullies/"wonder years" construct (except for one particular "love" scene as the pre-teen buddies were leaving the lair of "IT" that just seemed so tremendously awkward and unnecessary that I feel the author would have done better just to leave it out).
