In the sleepy English countryside of decades past, there is a town that has stood on a jut of granite for six hundred years. And immediately to the east stands a high stone wall, for which the village is named. Here in the town of Wall, Tristran Thorn has lost his heart to the hauntingly beautiful Victoria Forester. One crisp October night, as they watch, a star falls from the sky, and Victoria promises to marry Tristran if he'll retrieve that star and bring it back for her. It is this promise that sends Tristran through the only gap in the wall, across the meadow, and into the most unforgettable adventure of his life.In the sleepy English countryside of decades past, there is a town that has stood on a jut of granite for six hundred years. • Book Review: Stardust by Neil Gaiman Share

This book could have gone horribly wrong, become insufferably twee, but somehow, it didn't. Neil Gaiman's Stardust is a lovely little fairy tale. It's one of those books that as soon as you finish it, it sort of drifts away like fairy dust, but you w ... (read full critics)

  • Neil Gaiman and Charles Vess: Stardust

Antony Johnston Neil Gaiman once told a group of schoolchildren, "When I was your age, people told me not to make things up. Now I get paid to do it." And at first glance Stardust seems to be a book for just that audience. A compilation of what was o ... (read full critics)

    Stardust

A fairy-tale similar in spirit to The Princess Bride. One more wonderful Neil Gaiman creation.

This was my first time reading a book by Gaiman. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. It took me no time at all to finish this book. The words just flowed and I couldn't stop turning the pages. The only thing I do have to complain about is that some relationships were not as developed as I thought they could be. But all in all, a fantastic read.

I wish I'd read this before I watched the movie because I kept expecting things from the movie to happen, and some of them totally didn't. Regardless, it's totally cute fairytale story not for kids and plus it's Neil Gaiman and I love Neil Gaiman! Thanks Cheyenne, for sharing this book with me.

Proverò comunque a farlo.
CONSIGLIATISSIMO! Come sempre raccomando la lettura in inglese!
