I don't like this book at all. There are purely skills, NO HEART!

I don't care it is written by Dale Carnegie and also one of the world's most popular books ever written. All Carnegie teached here are skills, how to control your own emotion, how to deal with difficult siutaions, how to say no, etc.

It seems like if you remember all these skills and do accordingly, you will be a charming person who have a lot of friends and being very influential.

This is BULLSHIT. If you are simply ACTING as somebody, I can assure you won't be happy. You could hate yourself one day for being a clown who always wear mask! You will feel like a FAKE (because you are!).

Please, if you want to improve your interpersonal skills, work on you HEART. Understand yourselves, love yourselves unconditionally. Then you will be a genuine HAPPY people and everybody just want to be with you.

    • Very good book. Some very very basic ideas for dealing with others. However, we always forget these basic ideas.

    • Empathy
    • Although many counsels are extremely useful - like smiling before speaking, for instance - the main lesson to learn from this wonderful book is empathy.

    • Extremely interesting book. Old yet insightful. It has some universal attributes that can be applied, but note that it is still a western culture thingie, so not a copy&paste idea in the East.

Modesty and Flattering is kind of hard to get a clear cut.
