I'm not sure why I'm still bothering with this. It's so badly written, the characters are dick heads, the plot is a big yawn... This book should have been condensed down to about 35 pages of actual new, relevant material. The rest is repetitive or just too dull or poorly written to have been included but some editor was lousy enough at his job to let it through.
I'm so sick of the menfolk looking for some missing chickie, but then often doing lousy things to other people in the name of finding their own love. Yeah, that's a good christian for ya. Nice.
No one in this book behaves as they would if any of this stuff was really happening. All sorts of people showed up for their crummy jobs after the quakes? REALLY??? They didn't have better things to do like finding their families or repairing their homes or helping their neighbors?
I could go on and on but I've really already wasted enough time with this and I think there are still 3 or 4 more of these pieces of crap to get through before I finally get to find out what will happen in the end. Personally, I sort of hope that it all turns out to be a big hoax and there are scientific explanations for it all. That would be the best :)
