Because this was written after Obama graduated law school, but before he started his political career, it caries a voice that is much less guarded than one typically expects from a modern day politician. Because this was written after Obama graduated law school, but before he started his political career, it caries a voice that is much less guarded than one typically expects from a modern day politician. The honesty and emotion in the book is refreshing and welcome. At 445 pages, this is not a short read, but is captivating and moves quickly.
I don't know why any of my friends would think I would like this book. I hate anything written by political people. The books are generally tripe with a few well chosen historical quotes, stolen from venerable sources.
