  • Good sequel that doesn't try to imitate the original

A mystery that is only resolved near the end makes this a very intriguing read. It explores the theme of what makes us human, personal sacrifice, suffering and redemption. Some sections show the 'old' Ender, the masterful tactician and strategist, but Card does not make this the primary focus. Instead he allows Ender to grow into a more complete person, and leaves an opening for the sequel. It is not Enders Game, but it doesn't try to be.

  • After loving Ender's Game sooooooo much, this one just did not even come close to doing it for me.

  • Compared to Ender's Game

Compared to Ender's Game, I didn't really like this one as much. But perhaps that is because when he grew up I felt as if I couldn't really like him as much. I'm not sure.

  • Speaker for the Dead

Though very different than Ender's Game, this sequel effectively picks up Ender's story and brings him on to adulthood.

  • Very, very good

This is the sequel to Ender's Game but it is not written in the same style. Incredibly clever storytelling and a few very intriguing subject matters make this hard to put down.
