  Un gran brutto risveglio

  Parlare di Kafka è un’impresa ardua.
  E’ un autore contorto, difficile da analizzare e comprendere.
  Tra le sue opere, l’unica che ho apprezzato appieno è “la metamorfosi”, un racconto che ha avuto bisogno di diverse letture da parte mia per comprenderne appieno il significato.

  Parlare di Kafka è un’impresa ardua.
  E’ un autore contorto, difficile da analizzare e comprendere.
  Tra le sue opere, l’unica che ho apprezzato appieno è “la metamorfosi”, un racconto che ha avuto bisogno di diverse letture da parte mia per comprenderne appieno il significato.
  E’ uno dei racconti maggiormente conosciuti e uno dei più citati dagli autori contemporanei data la sua attualità.
  La metamorfosi è il simbolo dell’incomunicabilità…il protagonista, Gregor, è una persona chiusa nel suo mondo, che non riesce a relazionarsi con la sua famiglia, principalmente con il proprio padre, un’incomunicabilità tale da rendere inesistente il rapporto padre-figlio.
  Ma la metamorfosi è anche il simbolo dell’introversione, della sensibilità frustrata, delle fobie che il protagonista vive e che si manifestano un giorno al suo risveglio, quando si troverà mutato in un ripugnante animale.
  E’ la metafora della condizione umana, misera, insignificante, umiliata…l’uomo viene disumanizzato e posto agli stessi livelli di una bestia, specchio della sua condizione interiore e dei rapporti con la società in cui vive, sempre più in declino, sempre più vicina a cadere in un baratro profondo.
  Non ho mai potuto fare a meno di compatire Gregor…il suo stato d’animo così miserabile, così compassionevole commuoverebbero anche Satana in persona.
  E non ho mai potuto fare a meno di compatire Kafka…l’angoscia, la tristezza, l’afflizione d’animo, il suo senso di inadeguatezza e la sua profonda solitudine con cui scrive le sue opere mi hanno sempre colpita profondamente(sarò troppo sensibile? Forse, però è un autore che non si dimentica facilmente, che ti lascia dentro un segno indelebile e questo non è da tutti).

  It may be the most famous work of Kafka's! What Kafka really means by being a bug invites controversies all over the world. But I think what matters is how it becomes meaningful to you!

  I requested the actual book, but the library messed up and sent me what appeared to them as a creatively covered copy of The Metamorphosis.   I requested the actual book, but the library messed up and sent me what appeared to them as a creatively covered copy of The Metamorphosis. The artist, Peter Kuper, is the man behind Spy vs. Spy, and the art style in this book is immensely well-suited. One thing I dislike is the lack of any ambiguity as to the transformation, although the absurdist bent is well-maintained, and the rendering of the tenants was hilarious to me.
