Wow this was the best Anita Blake book yet in my opinion. Its just action, action, action from the get go. I loved the introduction of new characters in the form of Richard and Larry. Wow this was the best Anita Blake book yet in my opinion. Its just action, action, action from the get go. I loved the introduction of new characters in the form of Richard and Larry. Richard sounds yum hope we continue to see more of him in future books. Larry sounds do cute and innocent can't wait to see Anita's teaching methods in the future. They're bound to be interesting to say the least!

Jean-Claude. Oh Jean-Claude... He just sounds so beautiful. And he's scary and dangerous. Sounds pretty perfect to me. I need Anita to give in to temptation, even just a little bit! The other vampires were all really scary and as Anita says herself, perverted! Loved that they got their comeuppance in the end. Liked that we're kind of learning more about the world Anita's living in aswell, new creatures and the like. Very good book I loved it from beginning to end.

In my opinion, the best of the three I read so far. I appreciated the well balanced plot, between a genuine detective story and a bewitching gothic tale. Anita's character grows stronger: I like her being so hard and so vulnerable at the same time, so much of a Woman, despite her job and the violence sorrounding her. She tries desperately to hide this "flaw" in her personality, which makes her even lovelier. I am definitely attracted to Hamilton's blood, gore, action, suspense, supernatural, all mixed up with lust staying hidden behind the scenes, still persistent like a strong scent. Hey, lust gets you right down there, even if you are reading of a zombie chewing up some poor guys. This is where vampires and the like are supposed to bring you, sometimes, or maybe I am just really sick about them. This novel spellbound me without having me think of and compare it to Anne Rice's philosophical niveau, which is good. I had to rush to the end because I couldn't wait to see where things would end up to. Wow, that's pretty much for an action story, isn't it? Now I'm freaking out to go farther into this world.

  • Is anyone noticing a theme to my reading lately? I'm a bit vampire obsessed. LOL I love reading about the supernatural.

I liked this book. The heroine is believable, and I totally love the ending. I recommend this series. I can not wait to read the next one!

  • Circus of the Damned

I really enjoyed the action in this, along with the hometown St. Louis local references, but was disappointed by a weak ending.
