    The first physics book I ever read, it fascinated me and was a big part of the reason for me going into physics. I went to the library in middle school looking for physics books because I had heard another kid in the school read a thousand page book and I wanted to feel smart. Stupid reason for want ...     The first physics book I ever read, it fascinated me and was a big part of the reason for me going into physics. I went to the library in middle school looking for physics books because I had heard another kid in the school read a thousand page book and I wanted to feel smart. Stupid reason for wanting to read physics lol. Even stupider was how I chose the book: I liked the picture on the cover and it had a cool title. Luckily for me, underneath that cover was a critically acclaimed book by Kaku on the frontiers of physics, and the rest is history.

    Interestingly enough, a friend of mine who is doing his Ph.D. in Physics read this book when he was doing a fine arts degree in undergrad. After actually corresponding with Kaku (!!!) he started his degree over in physics. And the rest is history for him.
