Not so bad

Since his books always double as technical essays, most of them work better as books than in movie form. Congo is no exception. Since his books always double as technical essays, most of them work better as books than in movie form. Congo is no exception. Its main theme is modern expeditions, organized as commercial ventures to explore remote areas for valuable commodities and suchlike. The actual story is, as with far too many Crichton novels, just there to fill out the spaces between the essay sections. Still, it's certainly an interesting read, and it manages to provide some thrills, as well.
