    • I'm sorry, I just don't like this book as much as the original. When he left, I stopped reading it.

    • This one was painful at times but necessary. I recommend re-reading it after you've finished the Saga. It's less painful once you know the end. We had to know Bella and Jacob's relationship and its complexities.

    • MUCH BETTER STEPHANIE MEYER!
    • THIS WAS WAYYYYYYY BETTER THAN TWILIGHT. Although you don't see as much of Edward, it's worth it in the end.

    • This novel was much more action packed than Twilight and much easier for me to get into. I am looking forward to reading the next two in the series!

    • " When the Cullens, including her beloved Edward, leave Forks rather than risk revealing that they are vampires, it is almost too much for eighteen-year-old Bella to bear, but she finds solace in her friend Jacob until he is drawn into a "cult" and changes in terrible ways."

Just awesome. I recommend this series to everyone. I keep hearing everyone complain how whiny Bella is, but she has her moments of strength too. I never expected anything that happened in the second book after finishing the first one. A nice surprise, and I can not wait to get my hands on the next in the series.

    • Sad Story
    • If you read the first book in the saga (Twilight, this is the second book) you'll know that Edward leaves Bella. Anyone who's been through a terrible breakup will be able to feel the emotion in this book. It is nice to see her relationship with Jacob deepen, though.

    • Well, I’ll say it again: I approached this series with the LOWEST expectations, I am embarrassed at how involved I am with the key players of this saga (they’re VAMPIRES for the love of god) and I am bitter, nay resentful, that I have to be at work today and not at home, knee deep in book 3. Well, I’ll say it again: I approached this series with the LOWEST expectations, I am embarrassed at how involved I am with the key players of this saga (they’re VAMPIRES for the love of god) and I am bitter, nay resentful, that I have to be at work today and not at home, knee deep in book 3. Stephanie Meyer is an amazing story teller!!
After I finished Twilight I went to see the movie (Let me just say I thought they cast the film perfectly). That same night I went home and started New Moon. 200 pages later, I was still on the couch, about 3 glasses of red deep and 10,000 tissues into the most ludicrous sob fest of my life. The central story line of New Moon is gut-wrenching. There are parts where my stomach literally hurt because I was so worked up and heart broken. I just kept thinking to myself, no, Stephanie Meyer, no. You can’t do this to me. You can’t do this to Bella. You can’t do this to non-existent vampires everywhere.
Ugh! What is the deal? I can’t get enough of these books.
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Suggested With: Entire blocks of time and a complete sense of reckless abandon!

    • Better Than Twilight
    • I cried for the entire first half of this book. Don't read if you have work in the morning. A real emotional roller coaster. Won't be as good with out the groundwork established by Twilight so don't skip.

    • This sequel to Twilight is more about Bella's werewolf friend Jacob and the warm friendship they developed after Edward left Bella.

    • I found this to be the hardest one to read. When Edward leaves Bella and she is so lost for so long...it's heart wrenching. And it makes the book move slowly. It is nice to see and learn more about Jacob.

The second chapter of the saga only deserves 3 and not four stars. This is due to the author's decision to introduce the werewolf topic...I honestly think that by doing this, Meyer introduced a cliche', something that we had already seen. The book really reminded me of the Underworld movie...

In any case, the story is compelling and a page turner. I really hope Meyer will not fuck this up by having Bella leaving Edward for Jacob, or else I will go mental..
      ---------------------------- --------------------------

The first part of this book made me so depressed when Edward left Bella and my heart ached as I read but I couldn't put it down because I had to believe that they would end up back together. Their reunion and the way she saves Edward's life is great and made me feel whole again. I felt so much better knowing Edward and Bella were happily together again as a couple.

Bella, once again mellodramatic, this time over Edward's absence, goes into a deep depression and becomes deluded with hallucinations and craziness (because that's the sign of a healthy relationship). She starts to hang out with Jacob and actually becomes a bit less crazy and possesses a bit more personality, I liked that. While the idea that Bella CANNOT function or remain an independent personality from Edward really annoys the crap out of me, I loved the pre-werewolf stuff Bella goes through with Jake. Rest is a waste and completely ridiculous.
