Not as good as The Silence of the Lamb, but if you resd the last you need to read the first. Gotcha!

I just had to have this book when it was published but then I couldn't bring myself to finishing it. Thomas Harris subtle style of writing does not make for an easy read for non-native readers.

This book offers the background behind Hannibal Lecter, but it is the worst of the series in my opinion. It just didn't have the storyline of the other books. Good to read if you want to know more of Dr. Lecter's childhood.
